Dr. Gloyd's medical education began at St. George's University. After receiving a Masters in Public Health and a Medical Doctorate there, he completed a family medicine residency program at the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Gloyd comes to Family Practice Specialists after working for several years in a rural Texas community. While there, he practiced inpatient medicine, obstetrics including c-sections, pre and post patron care, newborn and pediatric care while also overseeing nursing home patients. Dr. Gloyd likes to say his patient age range is 0-150 years old. He also worked as an ER physician in a Level IV trauma center. Dr. Gloyd is fluent in Spanish, and his previous positions involved working with a significant number of Spanish-speaking patients.
In addition to practicing general family medicine at FPS, Dr. Gloyd is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, swimming, tennis and spending time with his family.
At FPS, Dr. Gloyd sees patients for a variety of conditions and concerns, including diabetes, hypertension, and ongoing health maintenance. His top piece of medical advice involves staying active. He encourages adults and kids to spend more time outside so they can be on the move and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
