Dr. Ungar, board certified in Emergency Medical Care and Family Practice, has an interest in acute care, diabetes, and cardiology. At Family Practice Specialists, he focuses on assisting his patients in anti-aging and preventative medicine through weight loss, nutrition, and exercise counseling.
Dr. Ungar grew up in Pennsylvania, attended Penn State for his undergraduate studies, and after completing medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico, returned to Pennsylvania for his residency at Allentown. Dr. Ungar was an emergency medical care instructor for paramedics and flight nurses. Having served as former Director of Department at Paradise Valley Hospital and Humana of Phoenix, Dr. Ungar is listed in Who’s Who in the US.
As well as caring for his patients at Family Practice Specialists, Dr. Ungar spends a great deal of time as an Adjunct Professor mentoring medical students at Midwestern Medical School, and also as a Professional Advisor for Maricopa County Sheriff. He is also responsible for Quality Assurance, the imperative position of reassessing doctors’ performance and assuring patients are at target health performance and reaching their goals, as well as finding ways to improve for doctors and making sure they have the best resources.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ungar grows and shows roses for competition and was a past editor for the Phoenix Rose Society magazine “Rosarian”. He accomplishes extreme rim to rim hiking and greatly enjoys the outdoors. |
