Dr. Licosati was raised in New Jersey and received his education at Marquette in Milwaukee, WI. Over fifty years ago he moved to Phoenix and began practice as a Family Practice physician. In fact, Dr. Licosati is a charter board member of the Academy of Family Physicians and one of the first family physicians in Maricopa County.
The experience Dr. Licosati has in family practice is extensive, having served as the President of American Family Physicians as well as President of the Catholic Physician’s Guild. He also was Chief of Staff at Columbia Medical Center, previously Humana Hospital.
As a former handball champion in college and competitive player in Phoenix, Dr. Licosati naturally had an interest in sports medicine. Currently, he appreciates the advantage family practice offers in covering everything and the variety it provides. Dr. Licosati started in family practice because he enjoys treating all ages and especially enjoys knowing all the members of the families he cares for at Family Practice Specialists.
As well as volunteering at St Vincent De Paul free medical clinic, Dr. Licosati also is the song leader, president of the parish counsel, and church lector at St Teresa’s. He genuinely enjoys life and family, and is kept very busy with his large family which includes six children and sixteen grandchildren. After more than 50 years of living in Phoenix, Dr. Licosati absolutely loves it and feels like a true Phoenician.
